Jewellery brand Boodles have become the new sponsors of the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The announcement today comes less than two months before the showpiece race of the Cheltenham Festival on the 18th March.

Rachael Blackmore, who finished second aboard A Plus Tard in the Gold Cup last year, modelled some Boodles diamond jewellery to promote the deal:

Already sponsors of the Boodles Juvenile Hurdle, Boodles had previously sponsored the Leading Jockey Award at the Festival.

They succeed children’s charity WellChild - who were announced as the 'naming rights partner' for the Gold Cup in 2021 after Magners ended their sponsorship early.

The Jockey Club is suing the owner of Magners, Bulmers Ltd, for more than £1.4 million over the termination.

Bulmers have counter-claimed, citing reputational damage resulting from the 2020 Festival going ahead in spite of the Covid-19 outbreak.
